The team managers assist in the running of the Friday night competition...
NDLA Performance Merit Point Score System
NDLA Centre records the performance for each athlete for each event they attempt on competition nights. Achievement tickets are issued to advise athletes of their performances in each event. These tickets are available from the canteen on the next competition night.
The reasons for recording athlete’s performances are as follows:
• To give the athlete a record of their achievement over the season
and hopefully this will give the athlete the incentive to improve on
their performance.
• To encourage all athletes to achieve their Personal Best (PB) each
time they attempt an event. The athletes are encouraged to learn
about the events and to improve on their skills, which will help
them enjoy performing.
NDLA’s Merit Point Score System is as follows:
• 1 point per event attempted
• 2 points for equalling PB per event
• 3 points for improving PB per event
There is a maximum of 3 points per event each week.
• A maximum of 4 points are awarded for competing in Gala days clubs in this
zone.
• A maximum of 4 points are awarded for competing in the Zone Multi
Championships and Zone Carnival.
• A maximum of 4 points are awarded for competing in the Gift.
Any athlete wishing to compete up an age group must compete in their own age group first and no PB’s or records will be counted when competing up an age group.
Points are tallied up over the season and performance trophies are awarded in each age group at the end of season Presentation. Athletes can only qualify for a trophy if they have competed after the Christmas break in more than 50% of events and 70% of events over the whole season.
